T-minus 24 hours!

Mom will be here in less than 24 hours and we will be in Barcelona at this point!! I cannot wait to spend the week with her but before we go off and have our fun I figure that I should probably fill everyone in on what has happened recently as what we will be up to in the coming days so you all know what to look forward too.

I spent all weekend cooped up at home for the nights trying to avoid getting sick...low and behold (thank you Sofia) I know have a cold.  I went shopping with Samantha on Friday afternoon and then she came home with me and we hung out.  My madre was very excited to be able to make a pizza for the 2 of us.  We drank a bottle of wine between the 2 of us and just enjoyed ourselves.  She left around midnight.  The next day I did homework and hung out with Adrienne near plaza los luceros for awhile.  Then sunday I got up at 9am and was at the beach by 11am where I spent the entire day.  Hello beautiful tan!!!  Samantha and I had a ton of fun on the beach and got some good laughs in as well.  I was hit on by a 25 year old Parisian man who seemed to think that I was just what he wanted for whatever reason.  He insisted on getting my phone number and never called me.  I'm not too disappointed by this fact.  He is a smoker which automatically turned me off to him in anyway.

This week we had class as normal and it went super de duper fast.  The mornings were freezing cold and the afternoons were boiling hot.  It was very frustrating to know how to dress when going to school at 8am when I wouldn't be home until 3pm.   I went shopping on Tuesday with Julie and we got a bunch of stuff that needed to get done done which was good.  I then came home to pack for the vacation with mom and do my homework.  This plan was foiled as my madre asked me to go with her so as to entertain Sofia while she ran cheese into the doctor.  Why was there cheese being delivered to the doctor I will never understand.

Now for the next weeks plans.  Mom will be arriving into Alicante around noon tomorrow and I will be meeting her at Plaza Los Luceros and taking her to my homestay.  Here we will leave some things for the week while we travel first to spend the night in Barcelona and be tourists there for the day, then on a cruise to France, Italy, Tunisia, and Spain for 8 days.  I am very excited to take hundreds of pictures so as to share all of them with all of you.  Once we arrive back in Barcelona we will do any other looking around that we need to do and then get on the train back to Alicante where we will stay with my host family and cook some American food for them.  I will also play the role of tour guide and show my mom around the place that has quickly become my new home and will continue to be such for the next couple of months.

More Spam from Spain to come in a week or so.  Until then, take care!
