Valencia and Dolphins

Valencia was wonderful.  we were only there for two days but we saw so much.  It was great to be able to enjoy a couple of days away even though I will be gone for a week not this coming week but the next when I go to Madrid and Dublin (Ireland).  Instead of writing tons and then posting pictures after I am going to post the pictures as I write that way places and stories get put into the same place in your brains.

This is the second thing we visited which is a market from the Arabian days in Spain.  The internet/my computer is misbehaving and I am missing the picture of the Torres de Serrano which we visited first which is basically the walls to the city when it was a walled city.  This building was gothic and baroque but mostly gothic as was everything else in the city.

This is a photo of the hotel room...it was a four star hotel that was much more like a five star hotel.  everything was wonderful.  the beds were comfy and not a thing was gross looking nor dirty in any way.  it was the best place we could have stayed considering it was directly in the center of the city as well.

This is the cathedral.  It like most of the other cathedrals in Spain is built around an Islamic Mosque and for some reason this one has baroque and gothic influences through out the entire building inside and out.  It was gorgeous and the tower we climbed had a breath taking view.

This is the picture from torres de serrano.  I have no idea why it ended up here but it was amazing and had an incredible view as well.  It was used as a place for the rich to go and watch the poor in the plazas below.

This is the view from Miguelete which is the tower attached to the cathedral.  it was absolutely breathtaking views and the views made the 260 steps we had to take to get there worth it in the end even if we were out of breath and our legs were sore the next morning.

This is Miguelete.  It was a very very tall building and there was very little light as we climbed to the top.  Spiral staircases like those should definitely not be climbed in boots that have no traction as many girls on the trip found out.

This is an arch that Adrienne and I found on our walk on Friday night.  I thought it was cool so I took a picture.  I cannot tell you anymore than that as I do not even know the name of it.

This is a fountain which we saw on our walk.  It had lights that flashed in the water as it spouted up as well as music that the water moved too.  They were playing "Circle of Life" as we walked up.

This was the cool park that we found on a postcard and decided to go on a walk to find because of.  It was really cool but it was behind a fence that was closed for the night when we got there so we did not get to see any more than that...sadly.  It would have been fun to play on.

This is a place a lot like Seaworld.  There were lots of animals to see and lots of exhibits to look at.  It was really cool.  The whole modern side of the city was buildings like the one you can see in the picture and every last one of them was white.  It was a really cool effect.  There was a dolphin show that we got to see which I am working on putting video together for and then I will get it on here for everyone to see.
